How to ApplyNursing
Nursing is a unique and dynamic profession that is committed to the comprehensive care of patients through health promotion, diagnosis, and treatment of actual or potential health problems. TJC Nursing provides hands-on skills training and clinical experiences that prepare nurses to enter the fast-growing healthcare field as a nurse.
TJC Nursing offers a Licensed Vocational Nursing track and an Associate Degree Nursing track. Though they sound similar, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses have less in common than you may think.
Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN)
Education: 12-month VN certificate required.
Median Annual Salary: $50,910
Licensed Vocational Nurses contribute to the plan of care by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team members and the patient’s family, representing the beginning level of the nursing practice continuum. LVNs work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians’ offices, schools and home health agencies.
TJC Nursing offers one pathway in the LVN track with four different cohorts: Tyler AM, Tyler PM, Lindale AM, and Rusk AM.
Associate Degree Nursing (RN)
Education: Two-year associate's degree required.
Median Annual Salary: $79,830
TJC Nursing offers three pathways in the Associate Degree Nursing program; Traditional ADN, LVN-ADN Transition, and Paramedic-ADN Transition.
The Traditional ADN pathway has two cohorts; a traditional two-year AM cohort, and a FastTrack hybrid PM cohort. The LVN-ADN Transition pathway has three cohorts; Tyler AM, Tyler PM, and Jacksonville AM. The Paramedic-ADN pathway has one hybrid cohort.
