The Associate of Arts degree provides the first two years of a liberal arts education and will prepare you with a sound artistic foundation required to successfully pursue a career in the fine arts, or an art degree at the university level.

"The TJC Art Department was a life changer for me. The professors are welcoming to all students of any major and want the art department to be a place of community, a place where you can go and forget about the pressure of school, a place you can feel at home.

"In that department, I learned that I have the freedom to express myself through my work in a way that is true to myself and that is why I am still making work today. I am now teaching my students how to do that and it brings joy to be able to think back to when I was a student at TJC and give my students a little bit of the knowledge and creativity that was instilled in me."
