The 1098-T Tuition Statement is used to help figure out education credits for qualified tuition and related expenses paid during the tax year.
1098T forms have been mailed to students who qualify for the tuition tax credit.
How do I know if I qualified for the tax credit and if I am eligible to receive this form?
- Did you have financial aid or scholarships?
- Did you receive a refund of financial aid (excluding student loans)?
If you answered yes to the above questions, more than likely you did not qualify to receive the tax form as you were not out of pocket to pay for your tuition and fees.
Please check online at https://heartland.ecsi.net/ to see if there is a form available for you. If nothing comes up, then you more than likely did not qualify and will not be receiving the form.
If you paid for your tuition and fees 100 percent on your own and out of pocket, you should be receiving a form any day now.
It is the practice and policy of Tyler Junior College to only mail forms to students who qualify to claim the tax credit when filing their income tax.
