HIT Program has selective admission:
- The application cycle opens in mid-January and closes in mid-April. Applications will only be accepted after this date if space is available.
- The program accepts students to start in the Fall semester and admits 20 students per year.
- Courses are online with the exception of HITT 2261-Clinical and BIOL 2401 & Biol 2402 labs.
- Utilize state-of-the-art health information technology and software
- Gain practical skills in virtual labs and a real work setting
- Graduates are eligible to sit for the national accreditation exam for Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Admission to TJC does not guarantee admission to certain selective programs, including Health Information Technology. Student enrollment in these programs is limited by the following factors, including but not limited to, program capacity, clinical space, prior work experience, academic preparation, prior academic achievement, negative drug screening and a clear criminal background check. Specific application information and deadlines are available by contacting the appropriate department chair or coordinator of each program or an academic advisor.

The HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT/HEALTH INFORMATICS accreditor of TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
