Transfer Scholarships

The TJC/UT Tyler Promise Scholarship was established in 2023 to help TJC graduates who have excelled in one of the College’s community-based “Promise” programs to further their higher education by attending the University of Texas at Tyler. Students selected to benefit from this award will receive four semesters at UTT. Each year, ten graduating TJC students will be selected to receive $8,000 over two years to be used towards the cost of attendance at UT Tyler.

Selection criteria:

• Scholarship recipients must be graduating TJC students who have successfully completed the Rusk TJC Citizens Promise or TJC Promise programs.
• Have been accepted as a transfer student to UT Tyler immediately following graduation from TJC.
• Priority consideration will be given to transfer students who will not benefit from scholarships as a part of the UT Tyler Patriot Promise program.
• Recipients must be enrolled full-time at UT Tyler and seek a Bachelor’s degree.
• Recipients must maintain good academic standing as per the standards of UT Tyler.

Scholarships will traditionally be disbursed by the UT Tyler Foundation in four installments for two academic years: One-quarter [$2,000] awarded during the fall semester and one-quarter [$2,000] awarded during the spring semester.

The application period to apply is January 1, 2024 – April 1, 2024.
