Tyler Junior College (TJC) adheres to the Principles of Excellence Standard. In adhering to the Principles of Excellence Standard, TJC is committed to providing applicants who plan on using military benefits to help fund their education with information on our cost of attendance, the financial aid process, available financial assistance to help with educational costs and consumer information. This information is provided on the College Financing Plan (sample).
The College Financing Plan (formerly known as the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet) is a standardized form developed by the U.S. Department of Education to simplify the information students receive from colleges and universities about educational costs and financial aid so they can easily compare institutions and make informed decisions about which institution to attend.
The College Financing Plan is generated when TJC students submit a Free Application and Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a financial aid award offer is made. In addition, students using military benefits will need to submit all necessary documentation so an accurate reflection of how qualified benefits will help offset the cost of their annual investment in their education. It will reflect any grants and scholarships, Federal Direct Loans, Federal Work-Study, and military benefits for which you qualify so an informed decision can be made Your customized TJC College Financing Plan is available in your Apache Access account and can be found in the financial aid section. Questions relating to the final TJC College Financing Plan can be directed to our Financial Aid Office at FAID@tjc.edu or by calling 903-510-2385. Please note that according to the Department of Defense (DOD) rules, students planning on using military benefits will not be registered into classes until the College Financing Plan has been provided. However, if a TJC student planning on using military benefits does not intend to file a FAFSA, then a TJC College Financing Plan will not be provided.
For students planning on pursuing only non-credit TJC certifications, this will not apply since federal financial aid is not available for continuing education/non-credit offerings. However, TJC is committed to helping you understand your investment in your education and benefits so please feel free to connect with either/both TJC’s Continuing Studies Department or the Veterans Affairs Office with any questions you have relating to financing questions and benefits.
