Legends of TJC
Launched in 2016 as part of TJC’s 90th anniversary celebration, the “Legends of TJC” program was created to honor the most notable living alumni.
The first honoree was Admiral Bobby Inman, with four more alumni honored in subsequent years: NBA all-star Jimmy Butler, songwriter Will Jennings, singer-songwriter Chris Tomlin, and actor Shea Whigham.
Meet the Legends
Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler is a six-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA Team honoree, a five-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team honoree, and an Olympic gold medalist.
Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin is a singer-songwriter awarded 23 GMA Dove Awards, a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his 2012 album And If Our God Is for Us..., and two RIAA-certified platinum albums.
Admiral Bobby R. Inman
Bobby R. Inman is a retired U.S. Navy admiral who held several influential positions in U.S. Intelligence, having served as the Director of Naval Intelligence, the Director of the NSA and Director of the CIA.
Shea Whigham
Shea Whigham has held starring or featured roles in Boardwalk Empire, The Joker, True Detective, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle, and Silver Linings Playbook.
Will Jennings
Will Jennings is famous for penning lyrics for "Tears in Heaven" and "My Heart Will Go On." He's in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has earned three Grammys, two Golden Globes, and two Academy Awards.
