Tammy Rose recently joined Tyler Junior College as cheer coach.
A graduate of Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, Mrs. Rose has more than 20 years of experience as a cheer coach at both the high school and college levels.
She was previously coach and program director at The Brook Hill School, coaching high school, middle school and lower school cheerleaders. She has also served as national events coordinator for Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders and head official with the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association.
“I am driven by the desire of excellence,” Mrs. Rose said. “I demand it of all my athletes physically, as well as growing their character individually.
“I believe coaching is one way of really mentoring into young people’s lives, and it is certainly one of the things I like best about it.”
TJC Director of Student Life Lauren Tyler said, “We are excited to have someone of Tammy Rose’s experience to lead our program, and we look forward to her leadership in taking Apache Cheer to the next level.”
Mrs. Rose and TJC Women’s Soccer Coach Corey Rose have been married for 25 years and have three children.
Tryouts for the 2017-18 team are Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20, in the Ornelas Health & Physical Education Center on the TJC main campus.
