Tyler Junior College is offering walk-in advising and registration Monday and Tuesday, June 12 and 13, for summer and fall classes.
Advising and registration will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 12 and 13, in the Apache Rooms, located in Rogers Student Center on the TJC main campus.
“When it comes to registering for college classes, sooner is always better,” said Dr. Juan E. Mejia, TJC provost and vice president for academic and student affairs. “The earlier you register, the better your chances of getting the classes you need at the time you want them.”
The details
Advisors from all areas will be available to assist with course selection, degree plan information and advising questions. Staff will also be on hand to assist with online registration.
The sessions are open to any current, former or prospective TJC students. All participants must present a valid form of ID with identifiable photo.
Students who are new to TJC or have not attended TJC in the past year must have: 1) completed the TJC admissions application, 2) submitted all required official transcripts and tests scores, and 3) provided proof of meningitis vaccination to the TJC Admissions Office prior to attending these sessions.
If testing is still needed, it must be completed in the TJC Testing Center prior to advising and registration.
These are well-attended events and there could be a bit of a wait, so please plan accordingly. There will be no admittance after 3 p.m. during walk-in days.
Payments can be made online through the Apache Access portal or in-person at the TJC Cashier’s Office.

About TJC
Established in 1926, Tyler Junior College is one of the largest community colleges in Texas, with more than 11,500 students enrolled per semester.
For 90 years, TJC has embodied the true sense of the term “community college,” as reflected in its foundational promises to provide students with a quality education, a vibrant student life and opportunities for service to the community.
TJC offers more than 120 degree and certificate programs, plus extensive training and technical programs, and offers opportunities for students to transfer to a four-year institution or gain the skills they need to go directly into the workforce. The college received legislative approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to be the only Texas community college to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene.
TJC features a 137-acre campus, rigorous academics, 56 national championships in athletics, stellar fine and performing arts programs; modern residential facilities, and organizations and clubs that reflect student diversity. In 2016, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program named TJC as one of the nation’s top 150 community colleges.
