Tyler Junior College has been awarded top-ranking status for its online psychology, health information technology and associate degree programs by Intelligent.com.
Intelligent’s comprehensive research guide is based on an assessment of 2,277 accredited colleges and universities. Each program is evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.
The 2021 rankings are calculated through a unique scoring system that includes student engagement, potential return on investment and leading third-party evaluations.
Intelligent.com analyzed thousands of schools with comparable programs, on a scale of 0 to 100, with TJC making it to the final list in three categories:
• Associate of Arts in psychology
• Associate of Applied Science in health information technology
• Overall online associate degrees
Intelligent’s methodology uses an algorithm that collects and analyzes multiple rankings into one score to easily compare each institution’s degree program.
TJC offers 41 online and hybrid degree and certificate options in a variety of fields. Some programs are designed specifically for students seeking to transfer to a university while others are geared toward students eager to enter the workforce.
Although these programs can be completed online, students can also utilize TJC’s student resources, including free tutoring, counseling and academic advising. Online coursework is delivered through the Canvas learning management system.
TJC has more than 115 degree and certificate programs including nursing and health professions, technical training, liberal arts and sciences, and more. At one-third the cost of a four-year state school, TJC presents a significant value for its students.
